Zap Mama, Bootsy Collins, Wyclef Jean and Manu Dibango – just some of the global music legends that are all united by their love of the Queen of Afro Groove Manou Gallo, and her intoxicating, melodic fusion of big funk bass lines to an African heart and soul.

For this exclusive London show, Manou will be performing music from her latest album 'African Groove Queen' which was not only produced by Bootsy Collins (in fact the James Brown/Parliament funk legend couldn't resist jumping on vocal duties for the track 'ABJ') but also features collaborations with the great Chuck D and a reunion with iconic African saxophonist Manu Dibango.

And Manou is not just an incredible bass player, she also sings and plays percussion - leading her band from the front, throwing down the funk and performing with a joyous and irresistible energy.

Born in the Ivory Coast, Manou was raised in the rich heritage of the Djiboi tribe by her grandmother, learning to play percussion and later discovering the electric bass. Quickly earning a reputation as a prodigious bass player, Manou joined the legendary world music line up that is Zap Mama and soon after moved to Belgium in 2003. As well as her recent collaboration with Bootsy Collins, Manou has worked with Marcus Miller, Wyclef Jean, Manu Dibango and Mamady Keita.
