Acclaimed stand-up comic and accomplished TV writer Meryl O'Rourke, revels in her bitterness. A potty mouthed potty trainer, she has delighted comedy audiences, written some of the best gags on telly and even hosted pop concerts (the last one to 12,000 people!)
She supported Frankie Boyle for part of his last tour, at his request. She also supported him at the Hammersmith Apollo. In his book 'Work! Consume! Die!' he calls Meryl "Inspiringly funny".
Meryl's cheeky routines of dysfunctionality get her choice gigs with major promoters. These include Up the Creek, Screaming Blue Murder, Off the Kerb, Banana, Comedy Company and The Funny Side; amongst many others. She performs 20-60 min sets, MCs and is also a popular choice for private parties and corporate events.
She runs her own club in Tooting where she is regular MC.
Her solo stand-up show Bad Mother… was a hit at Edinburgh and Brighton festivals. Directed by Foster's Comedy Award nominee Thom Tuck, it received 5-star reviews and was The Times’ Critic’s Choice.

Heidi has been writing comedy for over ten years and writing about herself in the third person for over ten minutes now. She moved to London from Australia 11 years ago but that’s neither here nor there.
Heidi has written in many formats but she never had the slightest interest in stand up, due to a lifelong fear of public speaking and bats (bats aren’t related to stand up but it felt so cleansing to admit the first fear she wants to get all her fears off her chest now – her third and most recent fear is talking about herself in the first person).
However one day, she had a nice little horrifying 3am realisation that she was not being very clever about her life or career strategy. To distract her from addressing this, her brain instead suggested a load of jokes that would only work on stage. But she still had the crippling stage fright to contend with. However fate would step in as Heidi stumbled across this phenomenal piece of advice on the World Wide Internet…
Its sassy and hilarious use of the word ‘ASS’ got her attention and its no-nonsense reality check made her realise she had nothing to fear but fear itself, a phrase she came up with all on her own right there on the spot.
Heidi took a screen grab of the image (she wasn’t made of money) and printed it at work to then stick on her wall. The results were immediate! Within a week she had done her first ever open mic and several colleagues had tried to give her £15.99 for the poster, assuming she had left the price in the screen grab because she must be selling it. The stand up night was the most exhilarating, and bowel cleansing evening of her life and she never looked back, because this other poster had told her not to.
She now gigs regularly, all in the hope to one day earn enough money from stand up to buy this beautiful print because the thumbnail is too small to tell her what is written under ‘possibilities’ and she is pretty sure it’s going to be beautiful.
Now based in London, Russell has become known for his risk taking and thrillingly quick wit – his charismatic, improvisational style making him a huge force to be reckoned with. Hicks’ abstract, unapologetic views on life in the UK provide fresh perspective and insight into the mind of this young comic powerhouse. His infectiously rebellious personality immediately gets audiences on side and he exudes magnetic charm from the moment he steps onstage.
In the US, Russell has already appeared on several shows including Direct TV’s What’s News? and in the UK presents Yahoo’s online content Beat The Street and Room of Doom. He also hosts cult podcast Off The Grid which invites comedians to talk about what their life would be like without social media. Branded partnerships and commercial work already include Google, PayPal, Zipcar and a nationwide US voiceover partnership with Taco Bueno.
Hicks has also established himself as a major player on the UK comedy circuit, regularly hosting and headlining at clubs including Hot Water Comedy Club, Top Secret Comedy Club, The Stand, Glee Clubs, Up The Creek and The Boat Show, alongside his Stateside work with legendary venues The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory in Hollywood.
Indisputably talented, there’s no comic quite like Russell Hicks.
