Charlie Parker On Dial focuses on just two years of Bird’s hectic life – the period he recorded with Ross Russell’s Dial label, producing classics such as Ornithology, Night in Tunisia, Relaxin’ at Camarillo, Scrapple From The Apple and Klacto-veeseds-tene – and revolutionising 1940s jazz in the process.
Featuring a band of top-notch musicians led by Nathaniel Facey (alto sax), with Steve Fishwick (trumpet), Aliocha Thevenet (guitar), Andy Chapman (drums), Alex Davis (bass) and Alex Webb (piano), with the stellar vocals of Vimala Rowe.
