“The Jewel of Reggae”, Aysha Lorén, returns to the UK live scene with this Hideaway debut show marking the launch of her new album featuring the single ‘Like I’m Gonna Lose You’ (produced by Adrian ‘Kenz’ McKenzie).
2014 saw the emergence of an exciting newcomer to the world of reggae when singer Aysha Lorén released her version of the Louisa Mark classic ‘Keep It Like It Is’ on the EP ‘Back To You’.
Aysha's rendition smashed Amazon Bestsellers & topped UK charts for a breathtaking 8 weeks. The success lead to the song being licensed on the 50th volume of the prestigious ‘Strictly The Best’ compilation on VP records, leading to international recognition of this rising talent.
At the same time Aysha was wowing us with live performances alongside the likes of Sir John Holt, Frankie Paul, Sanchez & Etana, a guest slot at Christopher Ellis’ sold-out Jazz Café show, and a European tour with Luciano – all grabbing the attention of many new fans.
In July 2015, through VPAL music, Aysha released her brilliant debut album ‘My Wishing Well’ (featuring collaborations with the likes of Tippa Irie, Christopher Ellis, Jazzwad, Chris Peckings, and Mad Professor).
Having being dubbed the ‘Jewel of Reggae’, Aysha continued to work hard through to the end of 2017 alongside artists such as Maxi Priest, Bitty McLean, and Lukie D, as well as performing on the legendary Saxon Sound during Damian Marleys ‘Welcome To Jamrock Cruise’.
An in-demand musicians’ musician, Ciyo’s ongoing collaborative works cover a range of genres. His musical talent has featured alongside artists such as Roachford, Linda Lewis, TRaghav, Shara Nelson, through progressive jazz with Soweto Kinch, to the ‘new psychedelia’ Brit-pop/folk influenced music of Bishi.
Ciyo’s jazzy guitar contributions are also present in the genres of reggae and lovers rock and can be found in his live and recorded work with many artists including The Original Aces, JC Lodge, Sugar Minott, Bob Andy, Earl ‘Chinna' Smith, Barry Biggs, Dennis Bovell, Pam Hall, Jimmy Lindsay, Earl 16, Lukie D, Paulette Tajah, Susan Cadogan, Lorna Bennett, Kofi, Winston Reedy, Janet Kay and Carroll Thompson.
Ciyo has toured with Courtney Pine, Byron Wallen, Ronnie Laws, Billy Paul, Jean Toussaint, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Horace Andy, Cleveland Watkiss, Steel Pulse and a host of others. He counts quality time spent with George Benson as amongst his most inspiring experiences to date.
