Jazz soundscapes from Lil Maxine and her trio at Hideaway Jazz Club London

Talented Austrian singer-songwriter Lil Maxine makes her UK debut performance at Hideaway with two stunning sets of modern jazz and grooves.

“Music that is seductive, expressive, always pared-down, yet rich in ‘song-ful’ details.” Jazzthing Review Plus

“A Little Girl’s Lovesongs” is an impressive, multi-faceted debut album that has already attracted high praise in Europe and is now scheduled for a first UK live tour.

Joining Lil Maxine at Hideaway will be Calum Gourlay (bass) and Dave Hamblett (drums), two outstanding young musicians who have both established themselves on the international Jazz scene.

Working with her favoured trio line-up Lil Maxine conjures up splendid jazz soundscapes for her voice and celebrates the art of storytelling, not just lyrically but also musically. As a result her songs take the time and liberty to break away from familiar formats.

The song cycle presents itself as subtle, almost fragile, and earthy, with an experimental tendency.  Balladic-epic sounds flirt with tight grooves. Pulsating expanses, driving beats and rolling bass lines carry the songs.
Lil Maxine’s velvet voice permeates each track and tells timeless stories of love, longing and hope.

“It’s probably true: we determine our lives by the things we love.” Lil Maxine
